IMTIAZ Mastercard Airport Lounge Access

We hope you've been enjoying the exclusive benefits of your IMTIAZ Mastercard credit card, including complimentary access to over 1,200 airport lounges worldwide.

We are writing to inform you of an important update regarding the airport lounge access benefits. To ensure uninterrupted access with Mastercard Travel Pass App, it will now be required that each cardholder performs a minimum international spend of USD 1 (or local currency equivalent) to activate the lounge access for that card pursuant to the conditions indicated below.

This update applies to each card enrolled on the Mastercard Travel Pass App.

What's Changing?

Effective 1 August 2025, Mastercard Travel Pass will introduce updated conditions for airport lounge access. To activate complimentary access, each cardholder must perform an international transaction of USD 1 or equivalent every 3 months using their IMTIAZ Mastercard.
Customers who perform the minimum qualifying international spend on their card will qualify for three (3) months of complimentary airport lounge access on the card where the international spend was performed. This access will extend for another three (3) months each time a customer performs another qualifying international spend.
Customers who do not perform the minimum qualifying international spend will only be eligible for the number of visits indicated in the updated maximum airport lounge entitlements detailed below, following which the access will be paused by Mastercard Travel Pass App, and the App will notify customers that a charge of USD 32 will be levied for any future lounge visits without the minimum qualifying international spend.
Customers must log-in again and re-validate their IMTIAZ Mastercard credit card on Mastercard Travel Pass App to activate the lounge access.

Entitlements reset on 1 January and expire on 31 December of each calendar year.

How to Activate Lounge Access

Step 1

Make an international purchase of USD 1 or more (POS or e-commerce).

Step 2

Open the Mastercard Travel Pass app.

Step 3

Tap "Spend Rewards" to activate your access.

Step 4

Allow up to 72 hours for your eligibility status to update in the app.

Mastercard Travel Pass App Experience

Step 1: Register or Re-Enroll

Log in to the Mastercard Travel Pass app.
You'll be prompted to verify your IMTIAZ Mastercard.
If already registered, re-enter your card details to continue.

Step 2: If No Qualifying Spend Has Been Made

The app will notify you that a minimum international spend is required.
You'll see whether you currently qualify based on your card activity in the past 3 months.

Step 3: After Making a Qualifying Spend

Lounge access will be reactivated for 3 months.
The app will display your remaining visits, expiry date, and guest access options.

Important to Know

Transactions in Bahraini Dinars do not qualify under the required minimum spend.
The requirement for the minimum qualifying international spend and corresponding maximum lounge entitlements apply separately to each primary and supplementary card. For example, both primary and supplementary cardholders can separately enjoy twenty (20) lounge visits per calendar year on their IMTIAZ World Mastercard credit card if they each perform the minimum international spend of USD 1 (or local currency equivalent).
A calendar year is defined as the period starting from 1 January to 31 December in any given year. However, for 2025, the calendar year will be from 1 August 2025 to 31 December 2025.
The eligibility conditions will reset on 1 January of each calendar year and customers will need to perform another minimum qualifying international spend of USD 1 (or local currency equivalent) to re-activate the maximum benefits of the airport lounge entitlements.
International transactions of USD 1 (or local currency equivalent) or more will take up to 72 hours to reflect on the Mastercard Travel Pass App. Furthermore, if airport lounge access has been paused, it will only be reinstated after 72 hours of the minimum international spend of USD 1 (or local currency equivalent) being made.
Access to specific airport lounges is determined based on the credit card type, details of which are available on Mastercard Travel Pass App.
